Wartime Girls: The Complete First Season
The thrilling and epic drama series WARTIME GIRLS tells the story of three young Polish women who band together to fight against the Nazi occupation of their country during the outbreak of World War II. Irka, Ewa and Marysia each come from very different backgrounds and social standings: Irka was raised by well-educated parents in a patriotic family, Ewa was brought up by petty criminals, and Marysia is a daughter of a wealthy Jewish industrialist from Lodz. Their paths cross together in occupied Warsaw as the Second World War intensifies.

Episode 1
WWII breaks out. Irka experiences a horrible raid at the hospital where she works. Ewka is released from prison, where she was sentenced for theft. Marysia, a daughter of a wealthy Jewish entrepreneur from Lodz, escapes from the ghetto and arrives to Warsaw to collect her father's money, but it turns out that a trusted banker robs her family. In the first espisode Ewka and Marysia are forced to kill a Volksdeutsche, who attempted to rape the young Jewish girl.

Episode 2
At night, girls take Domaraszek's body to the Vistula river and try to throw them into the water. The man is too heavy, so they leave him at the bank. Meanwhile, it turns out that Domaraszek was not killed at all. The wounded is found by some random people who take him to the hospital where he is operated. He tells German gendarmes what happened. It results in the arrest of Ewa's mother and all the residents of her apartment building. The girl wants to get her mother out of Pawiak prison at all costs.

Episode 3
Ewka and Marysia live in Irka's home with the Szczęsny family. The girls help Irka's mother to run a laundry business and do not give up on the revenge on Ewka's mother murderers. Ewka meets Ażur, a former lover who is befriended with some Spanish diplomats and plans to leave Poland.

Episode 4
Marysia visits a German officer Franz, who challenged her the other day. She learns that Franz's subordinates will guard some lorries with guns for the next few days. Since the access to arms seems so simple, it would be a shame to miss such a chance. Girls prepare the action on their own without reporting it to their superiors from the underground organization they belong to.

Episode 5
Occupation continues. Irka and Marysia live by the Szczęsny family. Ewka hides in a rented apartment, where she pretends to be Irka's brother fiancé. One of Irka's activities for the underground organization is to help some nuns hiding in their convent Jewish children. During one of the walks with these children Irka is caught by a rat who demands money. He threatens that he is going to report the nuns to Germans about the hidden Jews.

Episode 6
While performing one of her conspiratorial tasks, Irka notes that someone is following her. It turns out that it is Stefan, a friend of Kamil, her fiancé, who was taken to the army. This meeting gives Irka hope that her beloved fiancé is still alive.

Episode 7
Jurek, a rickshaw puller, follows Marysia and sees when she enters Dietrich's apartment, where she starts to work as a maid. Major Oskar Dietrich is an important Abwehr officer. From now Jurek suspects Marysia of collaboration or romance with the German. Irka meets with Kamil's mother, Henryka Brodzka, and tells her that she has learned of her fiancé’s death. Henryka does not believe in the death of her son. The women go to Tomaszów, the place where Kamil was recently seen.

Episode 8
Witek is concerned about the lack of news from his sister. He goes with Ewka to check on the situation to Tomaszów, where they meet Knyst, the guerrilla commander. He informs them that their acquaintances left. Knyst takes Witold to talk to him to his office. Ewa stays outside with Knyst people. She learns from them that Irka and Brodzek have been imprisoned. In a gunfight, Knyst is shot by a villager from a nearby village. Witek and ladies return home.

Episode 9
Marysia, following Witek's advice, tells Dietrich that he is blackmailed by the Gestapo. Irka and Ewka go to Brodzka's apartment to get a mysterious cashbox left by Kamil. After numerous adventures they find it. Inside, there is a notepad with encrypted information. Ewka, who spent the previous night with Witek, now rejects him. Ewa and Marysia open Dietrich's safe.

Episode 10
The girls blackmail Dietrich and demand cooperation with the underground. Having no choice, he agrees. Later, the girls meet with Dietrich to get the promised codes for the encrypted message. However, it turns out that Dietrich, in order to avoid a scandal, commits suicide.

Episode 11
An old yegg Malina takes Marysia to the Ghetto to meet her father and sister. On the spot Marysia is horrified by the terrible conditions in which they live. When they both leave the ghetto they are caught by shmaltsovniks.

Episode 12
The Gestapo swoops the Szczęsny house. They look for Irka, Marysia and Kamil. Ewka falls into a trap and is arrested along with Irka's mother. Ms Szczęsny is, however, released from the Gestapo. From now on, the house of the Szczęsny family is under observation. Witold desperately tries to get Ewka out of custody. All in vain. Ewka departs with the transportation of prisoners.

Episode 13
Ewka manages to escape from the transport. Witold, Irka and Marysia are very happy from Ewka's return. They cannot stay, however, in Warsaw anymore. The situation is too dangerous. Witold organizes their transport to the countryside.
